The Department of Planning is inviting you to attend a forum on a review of the Major Development SEPP. One of the objectives of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979, is to promote the sharing of the responsibility for environmental planning between the Local and State Governments.

The purpose of this forum is to discuss whether the thresholds in the Major Development SEPP should be adjusted to achieve this objective, particularly as there are now Joint Regional Planning Panels with responsibility for determining "regional significant development applications".
